I should know by now

I had a triumphant post planned out in my head for today. In it, I was going to tell you about how the sky cleared in the late morning Friday, and how when I got home and got dinner in the oven, I decided that since it was sunny out, I should go out and clear the snow.

That's 14 cm for those that count that way.

I was going to tell you that, after a few false starts, a start at shoveling, a look down the driveway and one phone call to Mike, I managed to get the snowblower running.

Cleared enough for me!

I was going to tell you about how perfectly I timed it, coming back inside just as dinner was done in the oven.

Broccoli, sun dried tomato, ham, Jarslberg, and dill quiche. Yum...

And I was definitely going to tell you about how I decided that I would go out and tidy up the driveway manually this weekend, at least the upper part so that when Dad comes on Monday he can park on relatively clear driveway. Then this morning, I woke up to this.

Snow is sneaky. Not like rain. Rain you can hear...

Lesson learned (again): NEVER POKE THE FATES. Or at the very least, check the forecast before you celebrate. So I’ll run the snowblower down the driveway again Sunday sometime, because my weather app says we’re in for another 5-10 cm before tomorrow night. And it’ll be as clear as it’s going to be.

Tomorrow, assuming she’s dry, I’ll introduce you to Wave Maiden.
